Assistant Accountant
Assistant Accountant help finance managers / Director with administrative and financial tasks, including invoicing, budget drafting, issuing purchase orders, and implementing and managing procurement processes. They are also responsible for writing monthly financial reports and filing the company’s taxes.
Duties and Responsibilities

  • Taking responsibility for the planning and execution of financial duties and projects of a company.
  • Maintain company ledgers and daily financial transactions.
  • Create financial documents such as bills, invoices, pay-orders, payable, receivables, and purchase orders.
  • Identify discrepancies in ledgers and accounts, tracking them to the source and correcting them.
  • Manage payroll activities and release salaries and posting pay journals.
  • Coordinate and manage payment and billing details of external service providers, contractors, and vendors. Preparation of Import documentation, TT documentations.
  • Verify payments and deposits made through the company account and coordinate with the bank.
  • Create daily reports for management and team members.
  • Performing reconciliations of accounts
  • Verifying financial statements, ledgers and accounts and making corrections where appropriate
  • Preparing profit and loss accounts monthly quarterly & Annually for the Management meetings. 
  • Preparing VAT return
  • Completing annual statutory audits.
  • Preparing financial statements, reports, and forecasts for the business to ensure financial stability.
  • Drafting budgets, income statements, balance sheets, tax returns, and reports required by regulatory authorities.
  • Managing the risks involved in the financial activities of the business.
  • Estimating short and long-term financial objectives by setting performance targets.
  • Compiling financial reports and supervising month-end processes.
  • Drafting procurement processes and signing off on purchase orders.
  • Managing and monitoring metrics, KPI tracking, and reports for the financial department.
  • Evaluate the financial performance of the organization and measure returns on investments.
  • Providing training to staff members regarding financial processes.

Specific job skills and abilities

  • A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
  • Age less than 35 years.
  • Accreditation from the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB).
  • 3 years of experience in a senior financial position.
  • A good understanding of financial management obligations, especially statutory obligations and requirements.
  • Be an analytical thinker with strong investigative and problem-solving skills. Outstanding attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent report-writing and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in financial planning software such as Microsoft Excel and SAP.
  • The ability to work independently.
