Assistant Manager – Integrated Risk Management (Executive Grade)
Role Accountabilities

  • Conduct Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process of the Bank (ICAAP)
  • Complete “Risk & Capital Review” section of the annual report
  • Introduce new Internal Risk Rating (IRR) models across the entire credit portfolio of the Bank.
  • Introduce a process and set up a unit within Risk Department to independently revalidate the IRR of Corporate and Emerging Corporate clients.
  • Monitor group risk as an ongoing exercise.
  • Implementation of Risk Adjusted Return on Capital (RAROC) mechanism across leading portfolio.
  • Review risk appetite and risk goals of the Bank.
  • Conduct industry and country reviews as an ongoing exercise.
  • Asses credit portfolio / large borrower exposures for any underlying risk and propose suitable mitigants.
  • Coordinate with internal/external auditors and CBSL for any quarries made by them.
  • Assist other verticals for implementation of new projects and assistance to be extended as and when required.
  • Coordinate with training centre to ensure regular training sessions are provided to the network to ensure inculcating of risk culture within the Bank.  
  • Engage in various projects, new initiatives and any other task assigned by the CRO/Head-IRM from time to time.

Educational Qualifications

  • Professional qualification from a recognized institution in Banking & Finance/ Accounting/Statistics.
  • MBA from a recognized university will be an advantage.

Relevant Experience

  • 10 years experience in Banking of which minimum 5 years experience in Risk Management.

Competencies

  • Strong foundation in Risk Management principles
  • Broad and deep understanding of Basel III and CBSL guidelines on Risk Management.
  • Ability to analyze root causes of inherent risks.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High degree of initiative, ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Experience in credit risk modelling, ICAAP, IFRS 9 provisioning, PD/LGD assessments / RAROC assessments.
  • Excellent report writing skills.
  • Significant knowledge of Integrated Risk Management functions.
  • Experience in project management.
